Ghostd's Prompt Library Just Got Smarter: AI Suggestions, Intent Categories, and What Changed
Ghostd's Prompt Library received a significant update this week. AI-powered prompt suggestions are now built directly into the library, auto-generation has been removed from project settings, and a new intent classification system gives you control over the type of questions Ghostd monitors on your behalf.
If your prompt library looks lighter than before, that is expected. Read on for what changed, how to rebuild your library, and what to do next.
What Changed in the Ghostd Prompt Library
Three updates landed at once:
AI prompt suggestions now generate from your actual website content, scan history, and existing coverage gaps rather than generic keyword patterns.
Auto-generation removed from project settings. The toggle that previously triggered automatic prompt generation from the project settings panel has been removed. All generation now happens inside the Prompt Library where you can review and approve each suggestion before it enters your tracked set.
Intent categories added. Every generation run now asks you to choose Top of Funnel, Bottom of Funnel, or Balanced so Ghostd targets the right kind of visibility for your current strategy.
How to Generate AI Prompt Suggestions
Generating suggestions takes under a minute:
- Open Prompt Library from the left navigation.
- Click Suggest AI Prompts at the top right of the page.
- Select your intent category (see table below).
- Review the suggestions in the panel that appears.
- Click Add on any prompt you want to track.
Suggestions are drawn from your site content, past scan data, and gaps in your current prompt set. They are not generic. Each run produces a fresh batch based on your project at that moment.
Top of Funnel vs Bottom of Funnel: Which Should You Choose?
| Category | Intent | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Top of Funnel (ToF) | Broad awareness and category discovery questions | Brands newer to AI search, or those building category presence |
| Bottom of Funnel (BoF) | Brand-specific and buying-intent questions | Established brands monitoring purchase-stage visibility |
| Balanced | Automatic mix of both | Most projects, especially when starting a new library |
Recommendation: Start with Balanced if you are unsure. Once you see which prompt types produce the most useful scan data, shift toward ToF or BoF depending on where your gaps are.
Auto-Generation Was Removed From Project Settings
Previously, a toggle inside project settings could trigger prompt generation automatically. That option no longer exists. The reasons:
- Silent background generation made it difficult to know which prompts entered your library and why.
- Prompts generated without context often lacked the specificity needed to produce meaningful visibility data.
- Moving generation into the Prompt Library puts review in your hands before any prompt is tracked.
If you used the project settings toggle regularly, the Suggest AI Prompts button in the Prompt Library replaces it completely, with better output and full visibility into what gets added.
A Note on the Recent Prompt Purge
As part of this update, Ghostd ran a one-time cleanup of low-quality auto-generated prompts across all accounts. Prompts that were too vague, duplicated, or too broad to produce useful AI visibility data were removed.
What was removed: Auto-generated prompts that fell below quality thresholds.
What was not touched: Manually added prompts and starred prompts. These were fully preserved.
If your library count dropped, use the Suggest AI Prompts button to rebuild it with higher-quality, intent-categorized suggestions. The result will be a smaller, sharper set of prompts that produces more reliable scan data.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are some of my prompts missing? Ghostd ran a one-time cleanup of auto-generated prompts that were too vague or duplicated to provide useful visibility data. Manually added and starred prompts were not affected.
Where did the auto-generation setting go in project settings? It has been removed. All generation now happens in the Prompt Library via the Suggest AI Prompts button, where you can review suggestions before they are added.
What is the difference between Top of Funnel and Bottom of Funnel prompts? Top of Funnel prompts are broad category and awareness questions. Bottom of Funnel prompts are brand-specific questions tied to buying intent. Use Balanced if you want Ghostd to mix both automatically based on your current library gaps.
Can I still add prompts manually? Yes. Click Add Prompts in the Prompt Library to enter questions by hand or upload a CSV file with multiple prompts at once.
How many prompts can I have per project? Free plans allow 10 prompts. Pro allows 20. Pro Plus allows 50. When you approach the limit, auto-generated prompts are pruned first. Manually added and starred prompts are always preserved.
